SHAYKH ABDUL AHAD

 

Shaykh Abdul Ahad Jawaid was born in 1991 in Fremont, California to parents hailing from the Indian subcontinent. He completed his high school studies at American High School, Fremont, California in 2009 and began his studies of the traditional Islamic sciences under local scholars at Dar us Suffah. He then traveled to Azaadville, South Africa to further his studies, eventually graduating from his Aalim course in Zambia with authorizations in the 6 canonical hadith books, usul-ul-fiqh, tafsir and arabic rhetoric. He then completed a further year of post-graduate studies subspecializing in the sciences of hadith. He also availed the opportunity to teach fiqh, mantiq (logic), hadith and Arabic literature whilst stationed abroad.

 

He returns to the United States to share the Islamic knowledge and passion for community development he has inherited from his teachers. He has served as the Imam of Islamic Center of New Port Richey and is currently the Imam of Masjid Umar in Tampa, FL where he teaches students at various levels of academic study.

MUFTI IMMAD ARSHAD

Immad Arshad is born and raised in the Bay Area, California. He has completed his high school and is currently pursuing his bachelor in computer science. Immad Arshad has traveled to South Africa to study at a prominent Islamic school called Dar-ul-Uloom-Azaadville. It was there that Immad Arshad has completed courses on various traditional Islamic Sciences such as Qur’anic Exegesis (tafseer), Hadith - including the Six Canonical Books of Hadith (Kutub al-Sittah) - Islamic Jurisprudence (fiqh) and many more.

 

Thereafter, he pursued his Iftaa Course in Darul-iftaa-Mahmudiyyah under one of the most prolific scholars in South Africa, Mufti Ebrahim Desai of Durban for two years. He has issued over 300+ Islamic rulings (fatawas) during his time with Mufti Ebrahim Desai and was given authorization (Ijazah) to give Islamic rulings. On his return to the Bay Area, Immad has contributed his service (Khidmah) to many masjids around the bay area by teaching maktab classes as well as youth classes. His love and enthusiasm will always be in teaching and learning Islamic education.

SHAYKH MANSOOR NASSIRI

Mansoor Nassiri started his Islamic education at the tutelage of Shaykh Mumtaz ul Haq (may Allah have mercy on him) at the age of 23 where he studied the Arabic language, Quran, Hadith, Fiqh and the science of Ihsan.  Shaykh Mumtaz (ra) directed Mansoor Nassiri to his Shaykh who was the great knower of Allah Tala, Shaykh Hakeem Akhtar (May Allah sanctify his secret) in Karachi, Pakistan.  Mansoor Nassiri stayed in the company of Shaykh Hakeem from 1999-2007.  Mansoor Nassiri completed a 4 year course in Islamic education at Darul Qasim under Shaykh Amin Khalwadia (may Allah preserve him).  He is current employed at Darul Qasim and is continuing his education in the science of Hadith and Theology.

SHAYKH MOHAMMAD AHSAN OSMANI

 

Shaykh Mohammad Ahsan Osmani is a traditionally-trained Islamic scholar who has studied the Arabic language and various other traditional Islamic sciences including Qur’anic exegesis (tafsir), Hadith and Fiqh in the U.S. He has received authorizations (ijazahs) in various Islamic disciplines including the six major collections of Hadith. Shaykh Mohammad Ahsan has taught many courses and lectured extensively on a range of topics. Currently, he resides in Texas, USA with his family and is a teacher of various traditional Islamic sciences at an Islamic institute.

SHAYKH MUSA SUGAPONG

Shaykh Musa Sugapong was born and raised in San Diego, California. Two years after accepting Islam in 1998, he enrolled full time at the Madrasah Anwār al-ʿUlūm located there, gaining proficiency in Arabic grammar, morphology, literature, fiqh, tajwīd, and tārīkh. In 2002, he re-enrolled at San Diego State University in order to complete his secular education, simultaneously pursuing knowledge of the religious sciences. In 2003 he received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Religious Studies and returned his full attention to Islamic studies.

In 2004, he enrolled into Damascus University’s Department of Language where he completed the course’s highest level, receiving a certificate of proficiency in the Arabic language. He then enrolled into The Institute of Arabic for Foreigners where he also received a certificate of proficiency having completed their course’s highest level.

In 2006, he moved to Elgin, Illinois and enrolled at the Institute of Islamic Education (IIE) where he studied the various Islamic sciences for two and a half years. He finally traveled to Camperdown, South Africa, where he completed his hadith studies at the Madrasah Inʿāmiyyah. It was there that he was granted authorizations in the six authentic collections of hadith (ṣiḥāḥ sittah), the two Muwaṭṭas (of Imam Mālik and Imam Muḥammad), and the Sharḥ al-Maʿānī al-Āthār of Imām al-Ṭaḥāwī.

In 2011, Shaykh Musa became an instructor of Darul Qasim and is now a senior faculty member.

MUFTI ROHULLAH BAYANZAI

Mufti Rohullah is a 29-year-old scholar who was born and raised in the Bay Area. He completed his memorization of the Quran at the age of 14 under the tutelage of his respected teachers, Mufti Mudassir Owais and Molana Ilyas Anwar. Mufti Rohullah spent most of his youth traveling the USA for basketball trips and had a promising basketball career ahead of him. After attending Newark Memorial High School, he made the difficult decision of giving up basketball for the sake of furthering his knowledge in Islam. He began this journey locally with his respected teachers; Molana Tameem Ahmadi, Mufti Nawaz Khan and Molana Abdur Rasheed Khan. After three years of studying in the Bay Area, Mufti Rohullah moved to South Africa for another 6 years to complete his journey. During this time, he was granted the opportunity of studying under some of the world’s greatest and most experienced scholars, who granted him authorization in the various Islamic sciences such as Tajweed, Arabic, Aqeedah, Fiqh (jurisprudence), Usool, Tafseer, Hadeeth, and more. Before leaving South Africa, Mufti Rohullah completed the two-year Ifta program, which is a course dedicated for specialization in Fiqh (jurisprudence). He also spent some time specializing in the field of Hadeeth studies. Upon returning to the US, he has been serving the community as an Imam, youth director and teacher across the Bay Area. In his spare time, Mufti Rohullah enjoys playing basketball, hiking and spending time with family. 

SHAYKH SHADMAN AHMED

Shaykh Shadman Ahmed is a Bay Area native and a James Logan High School graduate. Born and raised in Fremont, Shaykh Shadman began memorizing the Holy Quran at ICF Hifz under Mufti Muddassir Ovais and Imam Ilyas Anwar which he completed in 2008. After completing his memorization, he began the pursuit of studying Sacred Knowledge at Darul Uloom Fremont with local scholars such as Shaykh Tamim Ahmadi, Shaykh Abdurrashid Khan, Shaykh Salek bin Siddina and Mufti Nawaz Khan over a period of four years. In the same span of time, Shaykh Shadman studied Business Accounting and Finance at Cal State East Bay. To pursue his zeal of Sacred Knowledge, he was admitted and accepted to one of the most reputable Islamic Seminaries of the Muslim world, Darul Uloom Deoband, India. 

After the greater part of a decade studying, he was granted numerous ijazat in 2016, surpassing the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree, in the Islamic sciences including Fiqh, Hadith, Aqidah, Tafsir, Usul, Arabic Grammar & its branches, and more. In addition, he was granted ijazah to numerous books of ahadith including the Sihha Sittah, the 6 most authentic collections of hadith from His Eminence Mufti Sa’eed Ahmad Palanpuri (May Allah have mercy on him) and other foremost senior scholars. 

Since his return from his studies, Shaykh Shadman involved himself in teaching Qur’anic classes, delivering lectures, youth groups, and Friday prayers at various Masjids throughout the Bay Area. Currently, along with teaching Hifz at Darus Suffah, he is the imam and resident scholar at Masjid Zakariya in Fremont, CA. He has weekly lectures in Tafsir, Hadith, Fiqh, and youth classes. His lectures can be found at icfbayarea.com/masjidzakariya. Shaykh Shadman is currently enrolled in his second year of specialization in the Fiqh and Ifta program at Darul Ifta Birmingham.
